TL;DR
A Strategy Hour is a paid one-hour consultation with a senior web engineer, priced $150–$250. You bring a concrete problem: a platform decision, a migration fear, a broken deploy, an estimate you don't trust. You leave with a written action plan you can execute yourself, with your developer, or with us.
What kinds of problems fit in an hour?
More than you'd think, because most website problems are decision problems wearing a technical costume. Platform selection, a second opinion on an agency quote, "should I migrate or stay", a deploy that broke last Tuesday, whether an AI feature is worth building. If the problem is bigger than an hour, the hour becomes the scoping session and the plan says what a full engagement would cover and cost.
Why is it paid?
Because free calls are sales calls, and the advice on them bends toward the sale. Paying $150–$250 buys advice with no agenda: sometimes the plan is "do these two things yourself and don't hire anyone," and we put that in writing too. The price filters for people with a real problem, which keeps the calendar available for you.
What does the documented plan look like?
One or two pages, written after the call: the problem as we understood it, the recommendation, the concrete steps in order, and what we'd charge if you want us to do any of them. It's yours regardless. No recording-and-transcript theater; a plan you can hand to a developer on Monday.
When should you book the audit instead?
When you don't yet know what the problem is. The Strategy Hour works when you can name the question; the $795 Technical Audit works when the site just feels wrong and you need the full diagnostic: performance, security, SEO infrastructure, and AI-readiness with a prioritized fix list. Plenty of people do the hour first and the audit second, and the plan will say if that's you.
Stop guessing what's wrong with your website.
Fixed-fee Technical Audit: performance, security, SEO infrastructure, AI-readiness, and a prioritized fix list you can execute with us or anyone else.

Strategy Hour questions
Why does the price say $150–$250?
Scope. A focused question on a standard stack books at the lower end; sessions needing pre-reading, code review, or multi-property context book higher. You're told your exact price when you book, before you pay.
How should I prepare for the hour?
Send the problem in two or three sentences when you book, plus access to anything we should look at first: the site URL, the error, the agency quote you want a second opinion on. Ten minutes of your prep saves twenty minutes of the hour.
Can my developer or team join the call?
Yes, and it often helps. Second opinions land better when the person who'll implement them hears the reasoning directly. One hour, as many of your people as you like.
Do you actually look at my site before the call?
For lower-end bookings, we look during the call, which one focused question leaves plenty of room for. Higher-end bookings include pre-reading. Either way, nobody bills you for "research time" you didn't agree to.
What if my problem turns out to need more than an hour?
Then you leave with a scoping plan instead of a fix: what the full engagement covers, what it costs, and whether it's a sprint, a migration, or consulting. The hour is never wasted; it converts into the map.
Is the fee credited toward anything?
No. Credits apply to diagnostics that feed a specific sprint (audit, CWV diagnostic, migration assessment). The Strategy Hour is advice, priced as advice. It's also the cheapest way to find out which diagnostic you actually need.
Can I book recurring hours?
Yes. Some clients run a monthly hour as lightweight technical oversight. Past a couple of hours a month, a consulting engagement prices better, and we'll tell you when you cross that line.
What happens after I book?
You pick a slot, send the problem summary, and get the call link. After the call, the written plan lands within two business days. If you proceed into any engagement with us, the plan becomes its first page.
